Yes, we most definitely do. Those who enjoy the rigour of Mind Stretcher subjects are sure to enjoy our Chinese Programmes and find them highly stimulating as well. While it is a not a literature course per se, LAEW definitely can help a student in any course which touches on the literary aspects of the language. This in essence, would include subjects like English, Literature and / or Language Arts at the lower secondary level.
As the name implies, LAEW focuses on Literary Analysis (skills & techniques in answering a wide variety of literary texts, characterisation etc) and essay writing (advanced writing techniques and essay writing practice). These two components are often the bane of many secondary school students. By mastering the skills / techniques taught in this highly instructive stimulating course, a student will develop a solid foundation from which he / she can confidently progress and ably tackle the Language Arts, English and / or Literature papers at the lower secondary level and beyond.
GEP Students are eligible to join our High Achiever Classes for Science, Maths, English and/or Writer’s Toolbox. For those GEP students aspiring for something more challenging in English, they can enrol in our English (GEP) classes.
Our Primary/Secondary level teachers are NIE (National Institute of Education)-trained and had taught in MOE Primary/Secondary schools in the past. As for our Pre-Primary teachers, they are all certified early childhood educators.
You should consider the Writer’s Toolbox programme if your child’s foundation in English is already generally good, he / she has a good grasp of grammar is strong and if you wish to expose your child to advanced writing skills. The Writer’s Toolbox programme is designed to take a student to the next level in terms of writing skills.
