The P1 Chinese Preparatory programme is designed to give our students a head-start in Primary 1 Chinese. It eases students gradually into an academically-focused environment, with a focus on strengthening their foundation in the Chinese language.

To be proficient in Chinese, it is imperative that a child builds up a solid foundation and develops a love for the language from young. Students will progressively develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. New Chinese characters and vocabulary are introduced through interactive activities such as picture talk, rhymes and riddles.
In our Kindergarten 1 Chinese P1 Preparatory programme, children will learn strategies to recognise and write Chinese characters, including stroke writing, component writing and building Chinese characters. They will also be taught pronunciation of Chinese characters with the use of the four tones. Through engaging activities such as games and classroom discussions, students will develop critical thinking skills and experiment with the Chinese language in a fun and stimulating environment.
In our Kindergarten 2 Chinese P1 Preparatory programme, students will reinforce and build upon the foundational skills learnt in Kindergarten 1 while growing their appreciation for the Chinese language through riddles, tunes and games. They will continue to work on the pronuciation of Chinese characters with the use of 4 tones and cultivate speaking skills that will serve them at a primary level.
With the demands of Primary school in mind, students' core writing, reading and listening skills will be strengthened along with their critical thinking and problem solving skills in order for them to face the Primary 1 Chinese curriculum next year with confidence and ease.
